The Tulsa Fire Museum Hosts Black History Month Tribute Honoring Trailblazing Firefighters!
The Tulsa Fire Museum is proud to host a Black History Month Tribute on Thursday, February 12, at 6:00 PM, at 1010 E. 8th Street, Tulsa, OK. This special event will honor the history, service, and lasting contributions of African American firefighters within the Tulsa Fire Department (TFD), featuring Lieutenants Christopher Horn and Keith Horn as honored speakers.
Lieutenants Christopher Horn and Keith Horn represent a remarkable legacy of public service in Tulsa. They are the grandsons of Mary Horn, the first Black woman hired by the Tulsa Police Department. Mary Horn joined the department in 1939 and retired after 23 years of service at the age of 65. Her son Kermit Horn, the father of Christopher and Keith, was among the first Black men promoted to lieutenant within the Tulsa Police Department. Another son, Clifford Horn, was one…
